Install instructions

This game is only available for Windows 64-bit systems, no older than Windows Vista.

Download the .zip folder. Right-click the downloaded .zip folder, then select "Extract All", customize where you would like to locate the files if you wish, then click the "Extract" button. Open the newly extracted folder, then double-click the TransactionDemo.exe application to play. The game may sit on a black screen for some time before fully beginning.

Do not move files outside of the original extracted folder: the .exe application will not run if it is separated from the folder.

NOTE: When the game opens, Windows may pop up a dialog box regarding its firewall and giving Unreal Engine access to networks. Although this should be relatively harmless either way, please cancel or disallow this option: the game will run fine without it. Windows Defender or other anti-virus software may block the game for its lack of official publisher: I can only give my word as the developer that it is safe to run.

I love this demo! As one of your trans students, I feel this- not only the budget but also the emotional energy it takes to simply choose to wear clothes that match who I am instead of what I have lying around. Luckily, I have the opposite of the pink tax, but I still have to buy different makeup products if I want to contour my face and of course hygiene products are impossible to avoid. I love the art, and the music has just the right amount of serenity and tension to leave you feeling stressed at some moments and peaceful at others. The gameplay was fun, I was a little confused at first when I realized that you had to shave when doing makeup, but soon I figured out how to time myself so that I wasn't shaving twice in a row. I think it's a really sweet game that would be awesome if you continued it.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I can say that shaving and makeup being one merged action has confused quite a few players, so that's one of the things I plan on making clearer next!

I really appreciate you sharing your own experiences, too! I'm hoping that the game can encourage motions of solidarity, as we identify the material circumstances that limit us, and how we may liberate ourselves in spite of those circumstances toward feasible euphoria! I definitely want to continue development when I get the chance!

Thanks again for sharing, and take care as we brace for the winter!

Awesome demo! It really rang true to me as a working-class trans person. I particularly like how social media is handled - the option to check it is always right in front of you, but more often than not it just makes you feel like shit. The art is lovely, too. I'm super excited about the future of this project.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me! I'm glad to hear that the narrative is relatable beyond my own experiences, and it's all the more reason for me to keep going with the project!

I think it'll be difficult for me to set aside time to work more on it for now (working-class struggles!), but the good news is that I'm reaching a point where the systems are all modular enough to lead the way—with that done, it will be a matter of creating/adding content periodically up until the end!

Thanks again for the support, and take plenty of care!
